- 1 kg beef (chuck or shoulder)
- 4 large Yukon Gold potatoes
- 3 carrots
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 liter beef broth
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 bouquet garni (thyme, bay leaf)
- Olive oil, salt, and pepper
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add cubed beef and brown on all sides for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Incorporate flour and mix well to combine.
- Pour in beef broth and add bouquet garni. Stir gently.
- Chop potatoes and carrots into uniform pieces and add to the pot.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine.
- Simmer gently for about 120 minutes, partially covering the pot.
- Serve hot in bowls, enjoying the rich flavors.
Notes
Prepare the stew a day in advance for deeper flavors. Adjust consistency with more broth if needed.
