Description

A comforting and hearty beef stew simmered to perfection with tender beef, potatoes, and carrots.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 kg beef (chuck or shoulder)
  • 4 large Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 3 carrots
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 liter beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 bouquet garni (thyme, bay leaf)
  • Olive oil, salt, and pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add cubed beef and brown on all sides for 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. Incorporate flour and mix well to combine.
  4. Pour in beef broth and add bouquet garni. Stir gently.
  5. Chop potatoes and carrots into uniform pieces and add to the pot.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine.
  7. Simmer gently for about 120 minutes, partially covering the pot.
  8. Serve hot in bowls, enjoying the rich flavors.

Notes

Prepare the stew a day in advance for deeper flavors. Adjust consistency with more broth if needed.
